Highlights from Collaborative Grantseeking (see featured resource in Chronicle of Philanthropy online)

Grantseeking is no longer an individual sport and this means that nonprofit administrators are well positioned to benefit from their inherent collaborative environments. The Collaborative Grant-Seeking Workshop will outline time-tested steps for establishing a culture of grantsmanship within nonprofit organizations, that was developed at the University of Florida for professionalizing the pursuit of grants to serve those professionals who did not receive previous training or experience in the art and science of proposal development. The workshop will feature practical steps for executing these strategies:

1) Creating an internal mini grantmaking program;

2) Searching for appropriate grant opportunities;

3) Developing workflows for preparing and submitting external proposals, and

4) Building buy-in throughout the submitting organization.

Examples of recently awarded collaborative grant projects will be discussed.
