The 4th Annual Bryan Shelton “AIM for the Stars” Celebration

When: Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 6:30-10 pm

Where: Gainesville Woman’s Club, 2809 W University Avenue

It’s time to “AIM for the Stars” for the fourth Annual Bryan Shelton Celebration to benefit GACTA’s Aces in Motion outreach program! Join us for a fun-filled evening of dinner from Southern Charm, silent auction, dancing and music from UF Women’s Soccer Coach, Becky Burleigh.

Our annual fundraiser is quickly approaching, and the support of community members like you will make it a success! Your support enables Aces in Motion to continue offering programs in East Gainesville to over 400 kids per week, when all of our programs are in full swing. AIM provides completely free programs offering academic support, character development and healthy lifestyles with a focus on underserved youth in East Gainesville.

Ronald McDonald House Charities

“Bourbon N’ BBQ”

When: Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 5-7 pm

Where: MOJO Hogtown Bar-B-Que, 12 SE 2nd Ave.

Join the RMHC North Central Florida Advisory Council for their Inaugural Bourbon N’ BBQ event. Guests will have the opportunity to visit different stations and sample each of the Bourbon and BBQ pairings. There will also be music and a silent auction with numerous dazzling prizes.

Girl’s Place, Inc.

“Swamp Chomp”

When: Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 6-9 pm

Where: First Magnitude Brewery, 1220 SE Veitch St, Gainesville, FL 32601

Celebrating the Gainesville community and its unique relationship with the University of Florida, the annual Swamp Chomp is a casual gator-themed celebration to promote female athletics that will be held at First Magnitude.  Delicious food, games, music, and a bar with beer and wine makes this a fun event for adults to kick back and have a good time while raising funds for Girls Place.  Tickets are $50 each prior to the event and can be purchased on the night of the event at First Magnitude.

The 13th Annual Florida Bat Festival is a local Gainesville event held every fall on the beautiful grounds of Lubee Bat Conservancy. “Dismiss the Myths!
