Mental Wellness Fund

An anonymous donor worked with the Community Foundation of North Central Florida to create the Mental Wellness Fund in 2015. The fund supports a Trauma Recovery Program for young children and another start-up to address mental health concerns in North Central Florida.
In 2015, the donor committed $1.5 million to provide in-school mental health counseling, emotional and behavioral services to children at four high-needs elementary schools in Alachua County. This gift will pay for mental health counselors and social workers at Rawlings, Idylwild, Lake Forest and Metcalfe elementary schools.
More than 300 children have been served in the last 3 years from the fund.
“This fund truly reflects the donor’s desire to be innovative, inclusive and responsive to the critical mental health needs in our area.” – Barzella Papa, CFNCF President and CEO
