Authentic Donor Relationships:
The Cornerstone of Philanthropy

Building authentic relationships is easy, right? They happen overnight? You can have them with every donor in the database, right? Unfortunately, NO! They take a consistent patient commitment to deepening donors’ engagement with your organization’s mission and vision. Through an interactive session, you’ll learn best practices, and most importantly, how to implement them in your shop.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Kerry A. Bartlett, MBA, CFRE

Managing Director
With more than 25 years of experience in the philanthropic sector, Kerry A. Bartlett, CFRE, MBA is recognized as a passionate and principled nonprofit leader with extensive experience in fundraising campaigns, planned giving, Board development, strategic planning and organizational culture.

Kerry joined the Carter team in 2014, translating her professional experience to the field of nonprofit consulting. Her work with Carter has focused specifically on board governance, strategic planning, organizational assessments and capital campaigns. She is also a member of the planning study and development audit teams.

Prior to joining Carter, Kerry worked at the Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast in Vero Beach, FL serving as the Vice President of the VNA and Hospice Foundation. Kerry was responsible for leading a six-member staff team, partnering with a 16-member Board of Directors and managing a comprehensive fund development plan including annual fund, major gift, grant, special event and planned giving programs. This was her second engagement with the organization; she was also the Chief Advancement Officer for the nonprofit for eight years when she led the organization through a successful $5 million endowment campaign for the VNA Hospice House.

In 2008, Kerry took the helm of the newly established Indian River Community Foundation in Vero Beach, Florida as Executive Director. Kerry guided the organization as it expanded the Board of Directors from five to 15 members and developed its infrastructure, policies and procedures. Under her leadership, the fledgling organization grew its philanthropic assets from zero to $30 million as of December 2014.

Prior to joining the Indian River Community Foundation, Kerry was Principle of The Bartlett Group, a consultant to nonprofit organizations on strategic philanthropy, fund development and Board governance. Kerry’s nonprofit career started with an 11-year stint Campaign and Communications Director for the United Way of Indian River County.
